Smart PDU Β· OmniControl 8

Smart control. Reliable power.

Remote-manage servers, network infrastructure, and connected equipment from any location.

The Trivision OmniControl 8 is a rugged, rackmountable Smart PDU engineered to reduce operational costs and eliminate unnecessary service dispatches across distributed infrastructure. It provides eight individually switchable outlets, a cloud dashboard with GPS and live per-site status, an AutoPing watchdog for automated recovery of unresponsive devices, and configurable boot-order sequencing for dependent equipment. A local GUI ensures full operation during network connectivity interruptions.

Key features

A summary of the capabilities the OmniControl 8 provides at deployment.

↻

Remote reboot

Individual outlets can be power-cycled from any browser, mobile device, or the cloud dashboard, eliminating the need for on-site technician dispatch.

βœ“

AutoPing watchdog

Configurable target IP monitoring with automatic outlet reboot when the target device becomes unresponsive, enabling autonomous recovery of connected equipment.

≑

Boot-order sequencing

Programmable startup sequences with per-outlet delays to ensure dependent equipment is powered in the correct order β€” for example, restoring the modem first, followed by the router and connected servers after a configurable interval.

⚑

Surge and overcurrent protection

Per-outlet electrical protection with automatic overload shutdown and recovery, safeguarding connected equipment against transient events.

πŸ—Ί

Cloud dashboard with GPS

Every unit is presented on a live map with address, serial number, and connectivity status β€” well-suited to franchise networks and multi-site fleet management.

β—ˆ

Local GUI, offline-capable

The same web-based GUI is available locally over the LAN, ensuring full operational capability independent of cloud connectivity.

πŸ””

Smart Alerts β€” notification mode

For sensitive equipment where automated reboot is not appropriate, the OmniControl 8 issues notifications when a fault is detected, allowing operators to determine the appropriate response.

↔

Wi-Fi or Ethernet connectivity

Supports both wired Ethernet and Wi-Fi connectivity to accommodate site-specific network infrastructure.

β—±

Live power and environmental monitoring

Voltage, current, wattage, temperature, humidity, and frequency readings are updated in real time on both the unit and the cloud dashboard.

Deployment scenarios

Four operational environments the OmniControl 8 was designed to support.

Franchise networks

Maintain continuous connectivity across distributed retail locations. When a modem or router becomes unresponsive, the OmniControl 8 detects the fault and restarts the affected outlet within minutes β€” reducing operational downtime, minimizing service dispatches, and protecting revenue at point-of-sale.

Remote IT sites

Manage equipment racks without on-site technician dispatch. Servers, firewalls, switches, and NVRs can be power-cycled remotely, with AutoPing handling recovery of standard network devices automatically and operator intervention available for exceptions.

Telecom headends

Simplify power sequencing at critical facilities. Modems, NSGs, and dependent equipment are restored in the correct order using programmable per-outlet delays, eliminating race conditions during cold-boot recovery.

Retail operations

Network-connected devices are recovered automatically, while non-network equipment issues generate immediate notifications β€” enabling detection and resolution before operational impact reaches customers or store personnel.

Software and interface

The primary operator surfaces on the OmniControl 8 platform.

Fleet map and device overview

Every deployed OmniControl 8 is presented on a live map with GPS coordinates, addresses, and connectivity status indicators. Single-click access to any unit is available directly from the map view.

Status and control

Voltage, current, wattage, temperature, humidity, and frequency are monitored in real time. Outlets can be operated individually or through master commands, with cycle plans executable from the same interface.

AutoPing watchdog

Configuration includes target IP, outlets designated for reboot, failure threshold, retry attempts, and bootstrap delay. Once configured, the watchdog operates autonomously without further operator intervention.

System logs and audit trail

All outlet actions and system events are logged and filterable by date and severity. Full event history can be exported in CSV or JSON formats to support compliance, diagnostics, and audit requirements.
